Director Roxanne Benjamin brought her horror thriller ‘Body at Brighton Rock’ to the Midnighters section of SXSW – and the response it garnered was great. For those that could not attend we now have our first look at the trailer.

The film is a survival thriller about a novice park ranger who must spend the night guarding a potential crime scene on a remote mountain trail.

The trailer clocks in a almost two and a half minutes but flies by and does a great job of setting the tone of the film and building tension while not giving to much away. Something that seems pretty hard to do with a long trailer debut.

For anyone that has been remotely lost in the woods in an unfamiliar area the panic that can set in is very real. Not only are you potentially disoriented with your surroundings but as darkness falls you will also battle the elements and whatever may be lurking in the woods. Or in this case, who might be lurking in the woods.

The trailers score helps build the tension and desperation and captures the essence of the film perfectly. Check out the trailer below.

‘Body at Brighton Rock’ is in theaters and On Demand April 26.

SYNOPSIS:
Wendy, a part-time summer employee at a mountainous state park, takes on a rough trail assignment at the end of the season, trying to prove to her friends that she’s capable enough to do the job. When she takes a wrong turn and ends up deep in the backcountry, she stumbles upon what might be a potential crime scene. Stuck with no communication after losing her radio and with orders to guard the site, Wendy must fight the urge to run and do the harder job of staying put – spending the night deep in the wilderness, facing down her worst fears and proving to everyone – including herself – that she’s made of stronger stuff than they think she is.
