The 9 Greatest Supervillains in the DC & Marvel Cinematic Universes

7 Hugo Weaving, The Red Skull (Captain America: The First Avenger, 2011)

hugo-weaving-captain-americaNazi officer Johann Schmidt underwent an imperfect version of the same procedure that turned Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) into Captain America, leading to permanent side effects that are later revealed when he removes his mask to reveal a red, skull-like visage. Be careful what you covet, though; physically handling the Tesseract causes him to dissolve in a bright light.

6 Tom Hardy, Bane (The Dark Knight Rises, 2012)

TDKR_jRqkSHardy’s Bane is a merciless revolutionary who accomplishes a lot of bad things in the third chapter of the Dark Knight trilogy. He attacks the Gotham Stock Exchange, bankrupts Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale), uses a bomb to hold the city hostage, and breaks Batman’s back.  It doesn’t really matter that you can’t understand what he’s saying.
