“A Bad Idea Gone Wrong” Remembers a Time When Independent Films Still Felt Fresh

A BAD IDEA GONE WRONG features Marlon (Matt Jones) and Leo (Will Rogers) who are aspiring thieves poised for their very first score. The problem is they have no idea what they’re doing. After breaking into a fancy house in a gated community, they accidentally arm the alarm system, so they have to break out of the house they just broke into. When they discover an unexpected housesitter (Eleanore Pienta), they suddenly have to deal with a hostage situation, double crosses, sexual tensions, and discoveries that make their difficult escape even more dubious.

In his first feature outing, writer/director Jason Headley has crafted a hilarious and clever story that goes from fumbling heist to feel-good discovery. The three leads charm their way through a situation that gets worse and worse until there’s nowhere to go but up. With smart, funny dialogue and outstanding performances, A BAD IDEA GONE WRONG remembers a time when independent films still felt fresh. Unexpectedly revealing the tender side of two guys and a girl just looking for an escape.

A BAD IDEA GONE WRONG will be debuting at SXSW in early March with 3 showtimes throughout the festival.
