Seth Rogen (Neighbors), Bill Hader (SNL) and Zach Galifianakis (Birdman) — who are teaming up for a vaguely titled space comedy, The Something. It follows a group of male astronauts, who, after being stuck in space for years, come upon another ship.
Rodney Rothman, who wrote the scripts for 22 Jump Street and Grudge Match, penned The Something and will make his directorial debut with the film, along with producing. Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures is producing along with Good Universe. Universal will distribute and has greenlighted the project.
Galifianakis’ recent credits include Oscar winner Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) and Muppets Most Wanted. He’ll soon be seen in comedy Keeping Up With the Joneses and Tulip Fever, and he will voice the Joker in the Lego Batman movie. Galifianakis is repped by UTA, Brillstein and Morris Yorn.
Rogen was most recently seen in Universal’s Steve Jobs and holiday comedy The Night Before. His upcoming films include Universal’s sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, which he co-wrote and stars in, and The Disaster Artist (also a Good Universe project), which he stars in opposite James Franco.
